San Joaquin County - Customer Case Study

San Joaquin County turned to Gordian when storms severely damaged the Bollea Road Bridge, the only access route for residents south of the bridge. Heavy rainfall undermined the bridge abutment, cutting off the community and forcing Public Works to find a fast way to restore safe access.

Using Gordian’s Job Order Contracting (JOC) process, San Joaquin County and contractor T & S Intermodal Maintenance completed a three-phase emergency repair plan that stabilized the bridge, built a temporary crossing, and rebuilt the footing and roadway. The project was finished within 120 days and cost about $270,000, saving roughly $50,000 versus the initial bid, while restoring access to the community and earning a Project of the Year award.
