A Gordian Case Study
The NYC Department of Education faced a time-sensitive challenge to rapidly convert a leased space within a Queens church into a new Pre-K center, a key part of the mayor's initiative. The project, which included removing religious items and constructing new offices, had to be completed within a strict schedule without disturbing ongoing church activities and required the use of grant or bond funding. To meet this challenge, they turned to vendor Gordian for its Job Order Contracting (JOC) solution.
Gordian's JOC solution enabled the contractor, Pro Con Group Inc., to efficiently execute the renovation using preset prices from a single bid, saving both time and money. The project was completed on budget and on schedule, allowing children to begin using the new center daily. The successful and timely outcome led to the NYC Department of Education and its contractor being honored with an Award of Merit for their exceptional use of the JOC program.
