Georgia Southern cuts through the backlog with JOC

Georgia Southern University, the state’s largest and most comprehensive center of higher education south of Atlanta, faced a growing backlog of deferred maintenance and construction projects on its 1,000-acre Statesboro campus. With fierce competition for quality contractors, rising prices, and short project windows—especially during summer months—Georgia Southern needed a faster way to keep facilities up to standard. Vendor Gordian and its ezIQC® solution were part of the answer.

Gordian helped Georgia Southern use ezIQC® to streamline and fast-track construction procurement through cooperative purchasing, giving the university quicker access to qualified contractors and more cost control than traditional methods. The approach enabled a more interactive project planning and approval process and supported projects ranging from $25K to $3.5M. As a result, Georgia Southern has been able to maximize in-house staff, reduce backlog pressure, and complete a wide range of work, including roof, HVAC, lighting, safety, and renovation projects.
