City of Victorville builds wellness center in 8 months with Gordian’s JOC

The City of Victorville faced the challenge of needing to urgently build a state-of-the-art wellness facility for the unhoused population using a fixed $28 million grant that had to be expended within an eight-month timeframe. To meet this accelerated schedule, the city utilized Gordian's Cooperative JOC service, accessed through the Sourcewell purchasing cooperative.

By implementing Gordian's Job Order Contracting solution, the City of Victorville was able to begin construction immediately on an accelerated schedule and successfully expended all funds within the grant's allotted timeframe. The project resulted in the Victorville Wellness Center, a complete campus with 170 housing units and extensive facilities, which won the 2023 Harry H. Mellon Award of Excellence. Gordian's solution enabled the city to maximize its fixed budget and achieve its urgent community improvement goals.
