A Gordian Case Study
The City of Savannah needed to quickly address two unsafe golf cart bridges at Bacon Park Golf Course while renovating the back nine ahead of the annual Savannah City Amateur tournament. Traditional procurement would have taken too long for the tight timeline and budget, so the city turned to Gordian and its ezIQC cooperative purchasing solution.
Gordian helped identify a proven contractor, Johnson-Laux Construction, to demolish and rebuild the condemned bridge and renovate the second bridge to DOT standards. The work included steel reinforced concrete abutments, 40-foot driven pile foundations, and safe hazardous-material removal, all completed without disturbing nearby wetlands. The project was completed for $321,454 from July 17 to October 9, and the tournament went off successfully.
