City of Middletown - Customer Case Study

The City of Middletown, Connecticut needed to complete a grant-funded walk-in boat launch on the Coginchaug River, but the project had stalled and the initial estimate of $112,936 was well above the available budget. Middletown turned to Gordian to help manage procurement and control costs for the launch, site work, drainage, and erosion controls.

Gordian implemented its ezIQC cooperative purchasing process to revise the scope, make material substitutions, and value-engineer the project into budget. The final cost was reduced to $44,768, delivering a significant savings and allowing the City of Middletown to complete the boat launch quickly, efficiently, and within budget.
