City of Miami restores Virginia Key seawall with Gordian after a $4 billion JOC track record

The City of Miami faced the challenge of repairing a deteriorated seawall at the Virginia Key outdoor recreation facility without disrupting a local kayak rental business. The city needed to maximize a grant to complete the necessary repairs and turned to vendor Gordian and its Job Order Contracting (JOC) service for a solution.

Gordian's solution enabled the City of Miami to work with a pre-qualified contractor to efficiently complete the project. The city successfully restored the seawall using native materials, built a new ADA-compliant dock and walkway, and added new native trees, all while allowing the adjacent kayak rental business to operate as usual. Gordian helped the city maximize its grant funding to revitalize the key recreational destination.
