City of Miami restores Virginia Key seawall and dock with Gordian

The City of Miami faced the challenge of repairing a deteriorated seawall and upgrading recreational facilities at Virginia Key without disrupting the successful Virginia Key Outdoor Center business that operated on the site. To accomplish this, they turned to vendor Gordian and utilized their Job Order Contracting (JOC) solution.

Using Gordian's JOC, the city collaborated with an awarded contractor to efficiently complete the project. The results included the successful restoration of the seawall with native materials and the installation of a new ADA-compliant floating dock and walkway, all achieved without impacting the local business. This project was completed so effectively that it won a Harry Mellon Award of Merit for the City of Miami.
