Using GooseChase to Encourage Venue Exploration and Increase Guest Engagement at a City-Wide Festival

Adelaide Fringe, the second-largest fringe festival in the world, sought to incentivize guests to explore its over 400 diverse venues and encourage positive interaction between all festival participants. To address this challenge of increasing guest engagement and venue exploration, they partnered with Goosechase to implement a digital scavenger hunt experience.

Using the Goosechase platform, the team created a game with missions tied to each venue, promoting exploration and creative engagement. The solution was a major success, generating 12,239 submissions from 353 registered teams. This gamification strategy effectively increased traffic to local venues and businesses, achieving the primary goal of encouraging widespread exploration of the festival's hidden gems.
