A Goosechase Case Study
The Nipissing University Student Union (NUSU) faced challenges with student engagement during its orientation week and year-round programming. Past events saw declining attendance and failed to resonate with off-campus and mature students. NUSU also struggled to effectively communicate its available resources and support through its website and social media, resulting in low participation. They turned to the vendor Goosechase and its experiential engagement platform to address these issues.
Using the Goosechase platform, NUSU created interactive, themed scavenger hunts for orientation and events throughout the year. The solution provided an inclusive, low-pressure way for students to participate either solo or in teams, driven by a motivating points system. This led to improved attendance records during orientation week and sustained student engagement across semesters. Goosechase helped NUSU achieve its goal of making students feel like valued community members while increasing awareness and use of its services.
