A Google Fitbit Case Study
Kimberly-Clark, a $20 billion global personal care company, rebranded its decades-old wellness initiative as the "Live Well" program and in 2014 launched the Live Well Challenge. Facing the challenge of hundreds of locations without consistent gym infrastructure, Kimberly-Clark partnered with Google Fitbit—using Fitbit Health Solutions and the Fitbit Flex tracker—to give employees a scalable way to track activity and engage in company-wide challenges.
Google Fitbit implemented Fitbit Health Solutions and distributed Fitbit Flex devices tied to a program dashboard, encouraging employees to reach a 10,000-steps-per-day goal and participate in challenges. As a result, about 50% of participants lost weight and increased strength and flexibility, 47% increased cardiovascular fitness, and employees were able to improve health outcomes without onsite gyms—demonstrating measurable engagement and fitness gains facilitated by Google Fitbit.
