IMA grooves their way toward better health

IMA Financial Group, a multi-city employer with 632 employees across seven locations, needed a way to turn wellness intentions into sustained behavior change—biometric screenings were treated as one-off goals rather than long-term habits. To boost engagement, IMA partnered with Google Fitbit, using Fitbit Health Solutions and the Fitbit Corporate Challenge program to create ongoing, team-based activity incentives.

Google Fitbit implemented themed corporate challenges, pop-up contests and onsite classes that encouraged friendly competition and multiple ways to win. The program drove measurable results—an average 15% increase in steps during the first challenge and a pop-up winner logging 12.4 miles in a single day—while increasing employee motivation, cross-location engagement and involvement of friends and family.
