A Google for Education Case Study
Wick High School, a remote secondary school in Scotland, wanted to give students more flexibility with digital learning and better prepare them for local employment opportunities. Before working with Google for Education, pupils were limited to ICT labs, teachers faced delays getting software approved, and physical computing projects like Raspberry Pi coding were cumbersome to set up.
Google for Education implemented Google Workspace for Education, Google Classroom, and a 1:1 Chromebook program, giving teachers and pupils access to cloud-based tools anywhere. The result was faster feedback, easier experimentation with technology, and more hands-on digital projects like the “Light Bike,” which was showcased at Birmingham’s Big Bang Fair to 1,500 attendees. Google for Education helped empower teachers to innovate and gave students practical skills relevant to their community and future careers.
