A Google for Education Case Study

Preview of the Vedruna Schools of Catalonia Case Study

Vedruna Schools will save up to €600,000 in the next 4 years due to the elimination of maintenance and licensing costs

Vedruna Schools of Catalonia, a network of 36 schools in Catalonia, wanted to strengthen pupils’ digital competencies and modernize teaching with a more collaborative, future-ready approach. Working with Google for Education and its Google Apps for Education environment, the schools sought to move beyond limited computer lab use, reduce maintenance and licensing burdens, and make digital learning easier for teachers and students.

Google for Education implemented a Chromebook-based rollout supported by Google Drive, Gmail, Google Classroom, and other Google Apps across the Vedruna schools. The new setup improved communication, collaboration, and flexibility for learning inside and outside class, while boosting motivation and teacher efficiency. The case study reports that 80% of Year 3 primary pupils achieved digital mastery, up from 30% before Chromebooks, and Vedruna also expects up to €600,000 in savings over four years from eliminating maintenance and licensing costs.
