University of Toyama School of Education Attached School for Special Needs; where ICT is used to realize tailored and optimal education

University of Toyama School of Education Attached School for Special Needs sought a way to deliver more tailored, visual, and accessible learning for students with disabilities while also supporting programming education and better communication with teachers and families. The school was especially concerned about privacy, usability, and how to make ICT useful across elementary, junior high, and high school levels.

Google for Education helped the school roll out Chromebooks and Google Workspace for Education to all students and teachers, using Google Classroom, Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Jamboard, and Meet for class sharing, collaboration, and home-school communication. The result was stronger student engagement, improved concentration and writing in some classes, easier sharing with substitute teachers and parents, and less teacher workload; the school also reported better confidence and behavior for some students, while continuing to work with Google for Education on accessibility improvements.
