The Arlington Independent School District breaks down barriers of access with Google Apps and Chromebooks

Arlington Independent School District, a K-12 district serving more than 64,000 students in north Texas, wanted to better integrate technology into teaching and learning while improving collaboration across students, teachers, and staff. The district was slowed by email-based file sharing, multiple document versions, and limited access to devices during class. With Google for Education, AISD looked for a more connected, classroom-ready productivity and collaboration platform.

Google for Education implemented Chromebooks for grades 3-12 along with Google Apps for Education and Classroom, giving the district affordable, easy-to-manage devices and shared cloud tools. The result was stronger collaboration, faster feedback, and major time savings: AISD reports 50,000 to 80,000 Google Docs created in a typical school week, improved access to technology across socioeconomic levels, and quicker boot-up and troubleshooting that maximized instructional time.
