Teacher transforms SMP 1 Sukasada into a digital learning haven with Google for Education

SMP 1 Sukasada, a public school in Buleleng, Bali, wanted to make learning more meaningful as distance education became mandatory during the pandemic. With many teachers unfamiliar with digital tools and some students limited by poor internet access, the school struggled with slow adoption, disorganized communication, and difficulty sharing learning materials. Google for Education tools, including Chromebooks and Google Workspace for Education, were part of the initial setup.

Google for Education helped SMP 1 Sukasada shift lessons to Google Classroom, support teacher training through educator Mr. Yudi, and use Google Meet and other Workspace tools to improve communication, engagement, and access to lessons. The school received 15 Chromebooks in January 2020 and 135 more in June 2020, enabling a full transition to online learning. As a result, teachers and students became more digitally capable, lessons became more engaging, and the school now plans to expand Chromebook use further.
