SMK Rancha-Rancha, a public secondary school in WP Labuan, Sabah, struggled to maintain student engagement during the pandemic when it shifted to distance learning using messaging apps. The approach quickly became disorganized, overloaded teachers with logistics and data costs, and led to falling participation, with eight out of 10 students skipping online classes and assignment submissions declining.

Google for Education helped the school transition to Google Classroom and Google Workspace for Education through the DELIMa program and related training. With Google Meet, Google Forms, and improved content organization, student engagement rose by 70%, teachers saved time and reduced technical issues, and the school moved closer to a paperless environment while supporting blended learning for students both at home and in class.
