Putnam County School System inspires teachers to change the learning environment, using ASUS Chromebooks and Google Workspace

Putnam County School System worked with Google for Education to expand access to digital learning tools beyond its 50 computer labs and better prepare students for a technology-driven future. The district wanted to support its growing online learning program and move toward more flexible, engaging instruction, but needed affordable devices and a stronger way to use Google Workspace for Education across classrooms.

Google for Education helped Putnam County standardize on ASUS ChromeOS devices, including Chromebooks, Chromeboxes, and Chromebits, alongside Google Workspace for Education. The district reached 9,000 Chrome devices by early 2019, accelerated progress toward its 1:1 goal, reduced IT management costs, and improved teacher productivity and collaboration. Teachers also adopted new models like station rotations and used Google Docs and Classroom to engage students more effectively.
