A Google for Education Case Study
Placer Union High School District partnered with Google for Education to solve a major equity and access challenge: serving students spread across more than 1,000 square miles, from small rural schools to much larger suburban ones. The district wanted every student to have similar opportunities, including college counseling, AP classes, and access to a consistent set of digital learning tools.
Google for Education helped Placer Union roll out 4,000 Chromebooks and Google Workspace for Education across the district, enabling distance learning, digital portfolios, collaboration, and better communication. The results were strong: 85% of students said Google Workspace improved the quality of their work, 74% said it improved their grades, and 81% said it improved collaboration; among teachers, 80% reported higher-quality student work, 72% saw greater engagement, and 76% said feedback improved. The district also added six new AP classes and saw lower truancy rates, including 2% at Del Oro and 4% at Colfax.
