Palm Beach County schools launch "Trailblazer" program, inspiring teachers to sharpen digital skills

The School District of Palm Beach County, one of the largest districts in the U.S., struggled to move beyond basic email use after adopting Google Workspace from Google for Education. With 193,000 students across 180 schools, the district needed a better way to build teachers’ digital skills and encourage consistent use of collaboration tools, but training had been uneven and adoption was slow.

Google for Education helped the district launch its “Trailblazers” train-the-trainer program, combining Google Workspace for Education training, the Google Certified Educator path, and a district-created Certified Educator Course. The result was 1,750 Trailblazer teachers and more than 1,400 educators earning Google Certified Educator Level 1 or 2, with standing-room-only training sessions and stronger technology-driven instruction across the district.
