Manhattan College improves information technology services to better support students and faculty

Manhattan College, an independent college in New York City, faced growing IT demands with a small team of 22 generalists and limited resources for larger projects. Managing on-premises systems was becoming inefficient and expensive, so the college looked to Google for Education and Google Cloud Platform to help modernize its IT services and better support students and faculty.

Google for Education helped Manhattan College move key services to Google Cloud Platform, starting with Gmail and later expanding to cloud-hosted infrastructure and applications such as DNS, websites, and Banner 9. The college gained faster provisioning, improved performance, greater high availability, and lower costs than on-premises infrastructure, while freeing IT staff to focus more on user-facing improvements, workflow automation, and analytics.
