A Google for Education Case Study
Maine Township High School District 207, a public high school district in the Chicago suburbs, needed a way to expand access to digital learning, support a growing population of low-income students, and help teachers integrate technology without disrupting instruction. Google for Education provided G Suite for Education and Chromebooks to give every student and teacher a consistent device and collaboration platform.
Google for Education rolled out G Suite for Education districtwide and added Chromebooks to all students over time, supported by teacher training and student-run help desks called the ChromeDepot. The results included steady ACT performance even as demographics shifted, with 2015 composite ACT scores of 22.0 for Maine 207 versus 20.7 statewide and 21.0 nationally. More than 60% of students used Chromebooks as their primary home computing device, and the district also saved money and reduced weight compared with textbooks.
