Madiun City prepares students for the future with Google for Education

Madiun City, through its Bureau of Education, wanted to transform conventional teaching and learning so students could develop the problem-solving skills needed for the future. To support its Smart Education initiative, the city sought a technology partner and worked with Google for Education to bring digital tools into elementary and junior high classrooms.

Google for Education helped Madiun City deploy Chromebooks and Google Workspace for Education, introduce ChromeOS Flex to refresh older devices, and train more than 1,000 teachers by September 2023. The result was more collaborative, efficient, and engaging learning, with students and teachers benefiting from easier grading, improved understanding of lessons, and new digital skills; the city also reported an improving human development index and planned to expand the program across all schools.
