A Google for Education Case Study
Lee’s Summit R-7 School District, a large Missouri public school district serving nearly 18,000 students, wanted to create a more personalized, equitable learning environment for all K–12 learners. To address the challenge of uneven access to technology and support deeper student engagement, the district partnered with Google for Education and built its Connect2Learn initiative around Chromebooks and Google Workspace for Education.
Google for Education helped Lee’s Summit R-7 School District launch a 1:1 Chromebook program, expand access to home internet resources, and use tools like Classroom, Drive, Sheets, Slides, and Hangouts for collaboration and student-led learning. The results included a measurable lift in BrightBytes CASE scores across classroom, skills, access, and environment, plus 90% of students gaining home internet access through Connect2Learn. The district also reported stronger engagement, higher critical thinking, and more ownership of learning through data binders and student presentations.
