Kristiansand teaches students how to create academic work with integrity, following upgrade to Google Workspace for Education Plus

Kristiansand, the municipality in Southern Norway, has prioritized digital skills in schools since 2008 and was an early adopter of Google for Education tools, including Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals and Google Classroom. As teachers and students used a mix of Chromebooks, iPads, and Windows devices, the district needed a flexible system that worked across platforms and could also help students learn academic integrity and proper citation practices.

Google for Education helped Kristiansand upgrade to Google Workspace for Education Plus, giving educators and students unlimited access to originality reports in Classroom. This shifted plagiarism checking from catching mistakes after the fact to teaching students how to cite sources correctly while collaborating in Google Docs and Meet. The district reports stronger feedback-driven learning and broader teacher adoption of digital tools, with Google for Education now being used to support future curriculum updates and critical-thinking instruction.
