How one school is starting its journey with Google for Education

John Calvin School, a small school in Launceston, Tasmania, wanted a better way to manage classroom technology and move beyond familiar but less effective systems. Working with Google for Education and its partner InScope IT, the school evaluated its IT strategy, looking for devices and platforms that would better suit different year levels, improve efficiency, and reduce the time spent on device management.

Google for Education helped John Calvin School roll out Chromebooks with Chrome Education Upgrade, starting with Years 3–6 and then expanding to younger cohorts. The result was more robust and intuitive devices, substantial cost savings, and significant time savings for both teachers and IT staff, while setting the school on a path toward a fully Chromebook-based primary environment.
