How Newburgh Enlarged School District gains visibility into online activity with Google Workspace for Education Plus

Newburgh Enlarged City School District, a K-12 district serving 10,800 students in New York, needed better visibility into the online activity of its 9,000 Chromebook users and 10,000+ Google Workspace users. The district wanted to understand how devices and Google Workspace tools were being used, improve student safety, and support digital learning with more detailed insights. Google for Education was the vendor behind the solution, specifically Google Workspace for Education Plus.

With Google for Education and Google Workspace for Education Plus, Newburgh gained a single console for security, audit, and activity monitoring, along with tools to investigate phishing and malware threats, manage access permissions, and review security settings. The district also planned to use Google Meet recording to share meetings and events more broadly with students, parents, and teachers. As a result, staff can drill down into usage data, respond faster to security concerns, and make events more accessible, while keeping key management tools inside their daily workflow.
