How Google for Education tools helped to transform student outcomes

Emmaus Christian College, a South Australia school with 900 students and 130 staff across two sites, needed a more reliable and easier-to-manage technology environment. Its previous devices were frustrating to use, work could be lost when machines were refreshed, and IT spent too much time troubleshooting. Google for Education was brought in to help improve teaching, learning, and device management, including Google Workspace for Education Plus and Chromebooks.

Google for Education implemented Chromebooks with Chrome Education Upgrade for grades 3–9 and rolled out Google Workspace for Education Plus across the school. The result was faster deployment, lower IT support and replacement costs, stronger security and control, and better student engagement and outcomes. Emmaus reported being able to unbox, activate, and deploy 80 Chromebooks in just three hours, while teachers also saw improved collaboration and the school said it was “smashing NAPLAN expectations.”
