Empowering students in SMK Subang to learn IT and computer science through Google for Education

SMK Subang, a public school in Shah Alam with 2,810 students, needed to rapidly shift to online learning when the pandemic hit, but many students lacked personal devices and confidence with technology. As a result, access to classes and assignments was difficult, and academic performance began to decline. Google for Education, through DELIMa, provided access to Google Workspace for Education to help the school move to digital learning.

Google for Education later added 401 Chromebooks through Program Cerdik, creating a more accessible and interactive learning environment with tools like Google Meet, Google Jamboard, Google Sheets, and Google Classroom. The impact was strong: nearly 80% of Form 3 students used a Chromebook regularly, student participation increased, IT skills improved, and 50% of students in Cikgu Farahiyah’s classes improved academically.
