At UNC Greensboro, students and staff take charge of online groups and collaboration

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) worked with Google for Education and its G Suite for Education tools to improve campus collaboration and communication. With a large student and staff population, UNCG needed technology that people would adopt organically, use easily, and manage largely on their own without heavy IT involvement.

Google for Education helped UNCG implement self-service tools such as Gmail, Google Docs, Google Groups, Hangouts, Team Drives, and Vault to streamline messaging, group communication, document sharing, and employee offboarding. The result was less dependence on IT, reduced infrastructure for email lists, easier ownership and permissions management for shared files, and stronger cross-campus collaboration across the UNC system.
