At Chile’s Grupo Salesianos, Google Workspace for Education Plus helps education leaders navigate remote learning and teaching

Grupo Salesianos, a school network in Chile, was already moving toward digital transformation when the COVID-19 pandemic forced a rapid shift to remote learning. With teachers concerned about having the right tools to teach online, the organization turned to Google for Education, using Google Workspace for Education, Google Classroom, Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Meet to support staff and students across its 22 schools.

Google for Education helped Grupo Salesianos expand remote teaching with Google Meet features such as recording, breakout rooms, surveys, and questions, and the network upgraded to Google Workspace for Education Plus to unlock tools like unlimited originality reports and automatic attendance tracking. By early 2021, 18 schools had adopted Education Plus, and the platform also helped simplify administrative meetings and improve engagement in vocational classes, strengthening the group’s broader digital transformation.
