zest HACCP, a French provider of online food safety and traceability software for retailers, wanted to speed up manual goods-receipt data entry and reduce errors while meeting strict hygiene and traceability requirements. Working with Google Cloud Platform and its partner Cirruseo, zest HACCP used Google Cloud Vision API to automatically extract information from product labels and populate digital records.

Google Cloud Platform helped zest HACCP build the app in just five weeks using Cloud Vision API, App Engine, Cloud Datastore, and Cloud Storage. The solution improved pre-validation accuracy to about 85%, cut data input time per unit from 30 seconds to 15 seconds, and saves store operatives up to 25 minutes a day while allowing them to focus on higher-value tasks.
