Zain Group, a leading telecom operator serving 50 million customers across eight Middle Eastern and African countries, was struggling with slow, complex partner integrations and a lack of centralized infrastructure. In a highly competitive market, Zain needed a faster way to onboard partners, launch digital services, and create new revenue streams. It chose Google Cloud Platform’s Apigee API management service to unify its operations and support its API strategy.

Google Cloud Platform implemented Apigee as a centralized, standardized API platform, allowing Zain Group to consolidate integrations across countries and expose APIs to partners through a single system. The results were significant: partner integration time dropped from about a year to weeks, with the most recent onboarding taking just a few weeks, and Zain has already onboarded six partners. The company has also launched about a dozen APIs, is handling around 2 million API calls per month, and has seen faster time to market, improved customer experience, and boosted revenues.
