A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
wnDirect is a global e‑commerce parcels company (founded 2011) with processing centres across the UK, US, Germany, France, China and Australia. Facing large daily demand swings and the critical need for uninterrupted processing to avoid missed flights and fines, wnDirect struggled with a previous provider that required separate datacenter contracts, charged for unused memory and suffered multi‑hour outages.
wnDirect migrated to Google Cloud Platform (Google Compute Engine), using pay‑as‑you‑go pricing, fast VM provisioning, a simple admin portal and responsive support. The move delivered about 70% lower infrastructure costs, simplified server management and cost tracking, and improved reliability (no outages to date), freeing budget for product development and international growth.
