A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
Webydo, a code-free web design platform serving more than 85,000 designers, faced exponential growth and rising demand for rich-media websites that its VMware-based private cloud could not reliably support. The company needed better performance, stronger security, business continuity, and tighter cost controls to host millions of sites and maintain a high-quality user experience.
Working with Emind, Webydo migrated to Google Cloud Platform and implemented a distributed, stateless, auto-scaling architecture (Nginx/Lua/Redis, Cloud Storage), centralized monitoring and firewall/OpenVPN protections, and cross-region backups and DR. The move delivered a more robust, secure and scalable platform, completed in weeks, with immediate savings (about 84% lower storage costs and 37% lower inclusive annual costs) and capacity to scale from hundreds of thousands to millions of websites.
