Case Study: Weaviate achieves scalable cloud-native vector search with Google Cloud Platform

Weaviate—The AI Native Vector Database

Weaviate, the Amsterdam-based software company behind the open source Weaviate vector database, needed help launching and scaling its cloud-native vector search business. The startup turned to Google Cloud Platform, using Google for Startups Cloud Program credits and services such as Google Kubernetes Engine and Compute Engine to build and run its AI-native infrastructure.

With Google Cloud Platform, Weaviate was able to deploy and manage Kubernetes more efficiently, autoscale GPU workloads, and enable a fully remote team to collaborate across time zones using cloud tools like Docs, Sheets, and Drive. The support helped Weaviate get off the ground, prove value to investors, and grow its open source database to more than 2 million downloads by April 2023.
