Using AI to make medical diagnosis accessible to the Indian population

SmartQR, founded in 2021 and incubated within the Indian Council of Medical Research, develops smartphone-based point-of-care screening tools to make medical diagnosis more accessible in India. To support its growing AI-driven healthcare products, SmartQR turned to Google Cloud Platform to meet demands for scalability, security, and compliance while serving both healthcare professionals and individual users.

Using Google Cloud Platform, SmartQR built its diagnostic solutions on cloud infrastructure with AI capabilities, including mobile apps, dashboards, and test-strip-based screening tools for conditions such as vaginal pH, hemoglobin, plasma levels, and urine parameters. The platform helped SmartQR streamline medical diagnostics, reduce healthcare costs, minimize errors, and deliver insights for better planning and decision-making, with six additional solutions in development on Google Cloud Platform as of mid-2024.
