Travello App Delivering a “market-of-one” mobile application for travelers on Google Cloud

Travello App is an Australian social app that helps travelers connect with like‑minded people and discover local tours, activities, and hotels. Founders Ryan Hanly and Mark Cantoni wanted a “market‑of‑one” experience—highly personalized feeds based on users’ interests and planned trips—and needed a scalable, global platform that could handle rapid growth and peaks in traffic.

To meet that need Travello rebuilt on Google Cloud Platform using a Kubernetes‑based microservices architecture (Google Kubernetes Engine) with Pub/Sub, Cloud Natural Language and Vision APIs, and Stackdriver for monitoring. The move delivered seamless, automated deployments, sub‑second response times, autoscaling for marketing peaks, and now supports users in 180 countries with over 2 million feed events and tens of thousands of new connections.
