Toyota piloting a website using Google Maps, entirely optimized for mobile devices

Toyota Motor Europe, a major automotive manufacturer operating across 26 European markets, needed a flexible dealer‑locator that would fully integrate with existing back‑end services and CMS and meet specific requirements for select markets — all on a very tight deadline. The team set out to pilot a mobile‑optimized website that would be a full mobile experience (not a scaled‑down site) and include integrated maps and a dealer finder for many languages.

Toyota implemented a database‑driven mobile site with a built‑in Dealer Finder powered by Google Maps Platform, reusing the same back end for rapid rollout and reducing translation work. The pilot launched on time, main Dealer Finder apps were migrated successfully, and the solution now serves 26 markets with smooth, fast mobile performance and easy international customization.
