A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
The Queen’s Fund is a volunteer-run Victorian charity founded in 1887 that provides grants to women and children in crisis. Before 2013 the organisation relied on a single, locally stored database and personal email accounts, making it slow to process applications, time-consuming to communicate with social workers, and risky for the privacy of women who may have new identities or intervention orders.
Working with Google and Shine Solutions Group, The Queen’s Fund adopted G Suite for Nonprofits and migrated its application portal and database to Google Cloud Platform. The new system delivered branded domain emails, secure document sharing, online forms and portals, and direct database access—cutting the time to create group emails from two hours to two minutes, improving reporting and eligibility tracking, enabling remote work, and increasing overall efficiency and security while handling a surge in applications.
