The Drivers Cooperative Giving drivers and paratransit riders a better ridehailing service

The Drivers Cooperative, a driver-owned ride-hailing cooperative in New York City, needed a better way to serve paratransit and non-emergency medical transportation riders amid unpredictable traffic, while also helping drivers earn a fair wage. It turned to Google Cloud Platform, using Google Maps Platform and Cloud Fleet Routing API to build its custom ride-hailing app and routing tools.

Google Cloud Platform helped The Drivers Cooperative create efficient, real-time optimized routes and seamless dispatch across app, website, and MTA call-center requests. The result was faster and more reliable pickups, shorter trip times for riders, lower emissions, and stronger driver earnings; the company reports over $11 million in revenue, more than $9 million paid to drivers, and over 300,000 trips completed.
