Case Study: Tango achieves scalable, reliable live streaming and smarter monetization with Google Cloud Platform

A Google Cloud Platform Case Study

Preview of the Tango Case Study

Tango Empowering creators to succeed through live streaming

Tango, a global live-streaming and social media platform, needed a way to scale reliably as its user base grew and traffic spikes increased, while also improving how it matched creators with the right audiences. Its previous on-premises setup was difficult to scale automatically and required too much manual management. Tango chose Google Cloud Platform, including Google Kubernetes Engine and BigQuery, to support its transition to a more data-driven and scalable model.

With Google Cloud Platform, Tango moved most of its services to Google Kubernetes Engine for automatic scaling and better availability, while using Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Looker, and Cloud CDN to build a stronger data and content delivery stack. The results included more seamless livestreaming, reduced downtime, faster feature releases through A/B testing, and improved content monetization. Tango also reported that 95% of its services now run on Google Kubernetes Engine, and Google Cloud Platform continues to help it deliver content faster worldwide and cut down manual moderation tasks.
