SUBARU Corporation Turns to Google Cloud AI and machine learning to accelerate the AI development for EyeSight

SUBARU Corporation, the Japanese automaker and manufacturer, wanted to accelerate AI development for its EyeSight advanced driver-assistance system and move toward its goal of zero fatal traffic accidents by 2030. The company needed faster deep learning research, easier development environment setup, and better security as it shifted from limited on-premises workstations to the cloud.

Looker helped SUBARU build a cloud-based AI development environment using managed services and high-performance infrastructure, enabling image analysis, model training, and secure collaboration across cloud and on-premises systems. The results were substantial: pre-processing time dropped from more than a day to about 30 minutes, development environments could be prepared in one day instead of months, and security improved through controlled access and reduced risk of sensitive data leakage.
