A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
BugSense is an application error‑reporting startup that helps developers pinpoint and fix mobile app crashes for customers ranging from independent developers to enterprises like VMware, Samsung and Skype. Facing rapid data growth and a tight budget, the team needed a scalable, reliable bug‑tracking service without buying, configuring or maintaining their own servers.
They built the service on Google App Engine, using the Datastore, XMPP API and Task Queue to handle storage, live updates and notifications, and to deploy updates without downtime. App Engine scaled effortlessly as BugSense grew to thousands of customers, delivered predictable uptime, and saved the company about $220,000 per year by avoiding hardware purchases and two additional hires—giving the team greater reliability and peace of mind.
