Skyworth Improving the OTT viewing and operation experience with glitchless, easy-to-deploy solutions

Skyworth, a China-based electronics manufacturer with a modular OTT system used by operators worldwide, wanted to expand its OTT business overseas while reducing the deployment and operational burden of on-prem infrastructure. The company chose Google Cloud Platform, using its global network and compatibility with Android TV and Google TV to support smoother international delivery and a better user experience.

With Google Cloud Platform and partner WonderCloud, Skyworth migrated customer OTT systems to the cloud within one week each and now runs dynamic workloads on Google Kubernetes Engine, stable workloads on Compute Engine, and content delivery through Cloud Storage and Media CDN. The result was a major speedup in deployment time—from about six months on-prem to roughly one month in Google Cloud—while also improving scalability, system stability, and global content delivery.
