SIOS Technology, Inc. Developing a next-generation cloud electronic medical record service with HL7® FHIR® on Google Cloud

SIOS Technology, Inc., working with Seijin Medical Corporation, wanted to build INDIGO NOTE, a cloud-based electronic medical record service for psychiatric hospitals in Japan. The challenge was creating a secure, highly available EMR platform that could work 24/7, integrate with external systems, and align with Japan’s healthcare requirements and the HL7® FHIR® standard. They chose Google Cloud Platform, including Google Kubernetes Engine and Cloud Healthcare API, as the foundation.

Google Cloud Platform helped SIOS Technology implement a microservices-based, cloud-native system with multi-tenant and single-tenant components, enabling reliable operation and easier maintenance. The Cloud Healthcare API supported rapid development and testing, with about 1,500 automated tests per day and fast provisioning that improved feedback cycles. As a result, INDIGO NOTE achieved high availability, lower introduction and operating costs, and a practical next-generation EMR service that supports future healthcare digital transformation.
