Case Study: ICES achieves streamlined student administration with Google Cloud Platform

Simplifying admin processes so university staff can focus on the student experience

ICES, a private Catholic university in western France with about 1,500 students, needed a more agile IT system to replace fragmented on-premises tools that made admissions, invoicing, and exam administration difficult to manage. The university wanted a single platform that could better connect departments, automate manual work, and adapt quickly to changing academic demands.

Working with Zenika, ICES built Happ'ICES on Google Cloud Platform using Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub. Google Cloud Platform helped unify administrative workflows, scale for peak periods, and speed up development; results included eliminating many manual processes, automating exam mark transfers, and saving three weeks of work on examination administration, while also enabling staff to keep working remotely during COVID-19.
