Sesame, a healthcare marketplace launched in 2019, set out to connect providers and patients directly with upfront pricing and transparent service descriptions. When COVID-19 disrupted in-person care, Sesame needed to rapidly shift from office visits to a virtual model while keeping payments simple and giving providers control over pricing, availability, and services. Looker helped Sesame scale its virtual-care offering by supporting a flexible, data-driven platform approach that fit its microservices architecture. With the solution in place, Sesame ramped up remote care in just days and expanded from 3 cities to 35 states in two weeks. The results were significant: 86% of bookings became virtual, bookings rose 25% after the all-virtual shift, and half of providers onboarded to the remote-care platform.
