A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
Sedex is a nonprofit that runs a global ethical‑data exchange for 16,000 member companies and 37,000 suppliers, helping organizations meet CSR and compliance requests. Its legacy, third‑party BI platform struggled to scale and was inflexible, leaving Sedex unable to analyze growing volumes of data or easily integrate new data sources and self‑service reporting capabilities.
OpenCredo built a scalable, self‑service data platform using Google Compute Engine, Cloud load balancing, Hortonworks, a Hive-to-PostgreSQL reporting pipeline, and Agile delivery with skills transfer to Sedex staff. The result is a resilient system that generates complex, millisecond reports (previously taking hours), supports bespoke datasets and reports, delivers a clear market advantage, and reduced costs by 40%.
